About Ivan
Ivan Filipchyk is a multifaceted musician and artist based in New York.
Ivan was born in Belarus, where he studied music and visual arts.
In 2015, he relocated to New York after earning a Master of Arts in music performance from the Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow.
A versatile virtuoso, Ivan has received honours in many international competitions. He has performed on major concert stages in the USA, Japan, Canada, Europe, Russia, and Ukraine. His repertoire encompasses a wide range of music styles, from transcriptions of classical music to pieces of contemporary composers and his own music.
As a performer on the accordion and piano, composer, and arranger, Ivan participated in multiple music festivals, such as "Chamber Music on the Hudson", "Hudson Valley New Music Festival", a music festival directed by The Chamber Music Society of the Carolinas, and "Art Slope Festival". He was part of contemporary music projects working with such innovative organisations as “Opera on Tap” and “New Camerata Opera”.
Ivan has collaborated with such acclaimed musicians as Hanzhi Wang, Inessa Zaretsky, Raman Ramakrishnan, Yves Dhar, Anna Elashvili, Keve Wilson, and Tesla Quartet.
Being a musician and an artist, Ivan actively combines musical performance with his visual art (oil painting) by creating theme-based concerts/ exhibitions.
